Maud is a writer director from France. After her master's degree, she worked in film production and development in Europe and in the US. In 2017 she met her creative partner Hakim Sebti in Los Angeles, where she was working for Studiocanal and producing for AFI. She later switched to writing and directing while working under the mentorship of Terrence Malick, for whom she ran second unit on his feature film The Way of the Wind (to be released). In 2022, her short film Cycles, which she co-wrote with Hakim and which she directed, won seven awards in international film festivals. Maud likes character-driven stories that explore the human mind with a touch of mystical realism. Her background in production has given her a collective, grounded approach to the craft.
Hakim is a screenwriter from Morocco. After his master's degree, he worked in production in France, Morocco and the United States. While interning in development at Dan Lin’s Rideback in Los Angeles, Hakim reconnected with his childhood love of storytelling. In 2017 he met Maud, with whom he partnered up. From Casablanca where he lives, Hakim has worked for Moroccan company K films on various international films and series, including Homeland, Top Boy and Lioness. He is currently writer on a series planned to air in 2025 on Moroccan television. In 2022, his short film Cycles, co-written with Maud, won seven awards in international festivals. A fan of ethnic cultures and mythology, Hakim wants to create worlds full of magic, where heroes fight to save their humanity.
